 Diecast Police Citation #00006
Action ARC 20th Anniversary Diecast For Sale

      Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
      Thursday, January 11, 2018

This citation goes out to Plan B Sales who has this rare 1:24 Action ARC 20th Anniversary diecast for sale for only $33. Lionel made 150 pieces, which were given to Lionel executives and NASCAR VIPs. We looked this diecast up in the www.DiecastRegistry.com price guide, and let's just say the retail value of this diecast is over $150! Some lucky collector needs to buy this diecast ASAP before Plan B Sales increases the price.

 Diecast Police Citation #00005
Dale Earnhardt Sr Rare Canadian Gold Diecast For Sale

      Huntington, West Virginia, USA
      Wednesday November 29, 2017

This citation goes out to dkm927 who has this 1:24 very rare Dale Earnhardt Canadian Gold diecast for sale. Apparently dkm927 is not aware of the www.DiecastRegistry.com price guide where you can look up the value of NASCAR diecast. I won't spoil it, but if you saw the trend chart in the Diecast Registry price guide, you would be bidding on the other diecast shown in the picture below.

Breaking News... Nemechek Purchases Furniture Row Business and Changes the Name

      Hillsville, Virginia, USA
      Friday November 3, 2017

This citation goes out to vatechdiecast who has this 1:24 Action Performance 2017 Martin Truex Jr diecast for sale. Apparently vatechdiecast is a big "Front Row Joe" Nemechek fan.

 Diecast Police Citation #00003
With the Box... but is it the Correct Box?

      Saint Charles, Minnesota, USA
      Monday November 1, 2017

This citation goes out to aandds who has this 1:24 Action Performance Winston Drag Racing funny car diecast for sale "w/box."

As you can see, this diecast is in great shape, and the production sticker on the box that the seller has for this car says Action made 6,500 of them:

And there is the problem. Action made 7,500 of the seller's diecast. The box the seller has is the box for the Winston World Championship funny car which was release the prior year. Here is a photo of the production sticker that the seller's diecast SHOULD come with:

      The Rare Dealer Exclusive Venison

      Port Saint Lucie, Florida, USA
      Tuesday October 31, 2017

This citation goes out to Hobbyheaven.com who is selling this diecast on eBay as item #302432341670:

As you can see, this is the VHTF GM Dealer venison. The last time I saw "venison with a piece of the tire" was when my 2009 Ford Super Duty became acquainted with Prancer when crossing a country backroad while I was driving home from the airport one spring evening.

 Diecast Police Citation #00001
      Rescued from Abandoned Storage Locker

      Paynesville, Minnesota, USA
      Monday October 30, 2017

Our first-ever citation goes out to Craftymamajones who is selling this diecast right now on eBay. Take a good close look at this diecast being sold without a box. It's eBay item #261200701963:

It is definitely a 1999 DuPont diecast. And it is definitely a Brickyard paint scheme (see the "Tyvek" logo on the trunk). No big deal so far. Just another vendor selling a diecast without the box, right?

Here is a photo of the Brickyard ARC Action diecast released for sale:

Now let's take a closer look at the photos of the diecast being sold by Craftymamajones:

One of these things is not like the other...Do you see something different about the hood above as compared to the Action production release?

And what about the photo below? Does this chassis look like a production ARC release, or does it look more like an AP release?

This is what the standard ARC production chassis looks like on the Jeff Gordon 1999 Brickyard diecast:

So no big deal. Craftymamajones is obviously selling a non-hood-opening AP version of this Brickyard diecast. It is probably fairly priced at $4.19 without the original box.

We contacted the experts at Diecast Registry to get a second opinion on this diecast, and they confirmed our belief that ACTION DID NOT MAKE AN AP RELEASE OF THE 1999 JEFF GORDON BRICKYARD DIECAST. According to DCR, "...this is one of those times where I wish we buy diecast, but we can't because it is a conflict of interest with our diecast price guide. In our opinion, that's a prototype. If you look in our diecast production list, you will see that Action routinely made prototypes using AP chassis in 1999 because the AP chassis was less costly. Probably worth $250 or so, and the seller has a buy it now of $4.19! You should buy it NOW!"

As we rushed back to eBay to click on that Buy It Now button, we kept thinking about how admirable Diecast Registry's policy of not buying diecast was. Then it dawned on us... if we want to be recognized as having the same moral standards as the best websites in the diecast market, then we can't buy this thing either. Diecast Police needs to be a place where our future users can not only see "diecast to avoid" because they are incorrectly represented by their seller, but also find diecast that are great buys.

So... its all yours. What lucky diecast collector will be first to click on that Buy It Now button? Please Contact Us to let us know who added this prototype to their collection.

What else do you think was in that abandoned storage locker?
